Article Announcer is a new tool that helps to speed up submission of articles to article databases, announcement lists and ezine publishers. With more and more webmasters turning to article submission as a means of getting quality links to their site, Article Announcer appears to be a Content Publisher's dream.
I was lucky enough to get a pre-release copy of Article Announcer from Jason Potash.
As I tested and tracked my own results using Article Announcer, the hype surrounding its release grew and grew. Was this hype, or does this software live up to its expectations?
I will tell you about my own results in a minute, but lets first have a look at what Article Announcer package contains.
Firstly, this is a physical product that is shipped to you.
There are four parts to this package:
PART I - The Software.
The software comprises of:
1. A CD with the software and video training tutorials, and
2. A printed 32-page User Guide
There are 7 videos in total which show you exactly how to setup and use Article Announcer. The videos are good quality, and comprehensive, so will get you up to speed using the software very quickly.
PART II - The Tools
These are a collection of online tools that Jason has put together to help article publishers. They include items such as a density checker, article formatter, a spam checker to make sure your article gets through, and more.
PART III - 'The Blueprint' - Audio CDs and Video Tutorials
This part of the Blueprint is a valuable part of the package. Jason got together with John Reese, and recorded 4 audio CDs detailing how to use articles to improve your business. The CDs are based on over 200 questions that Jason and John had received on article marketing.
These audio CDs contain strategies and secrets about how to write, outsource, promote and use articles to boost your traffic, leads, subscribers, and sales.
To compliment these audio CDs, this part of the Blueprint also contains a Video CD which contains over 15 videos. These videos take you step by step through the article creation and marketing process. For those new to article marketing, these videos are a dream.
Part 3... 'The Blueprint' - Training Guide And Workbook
The Training Guide includes a complete transcription of the 4 audio CDs listed above. Once again, it is a complete end-to-end course about how to successfully use articles to promote your business and websites
The Workbook is the Article Swipe File. This contains various "cheats", recommended resources etc, to help you create quality articles that will make a difference to you business.
Also in the swipe file are examples of writing styles you can use in articles. Jason analyzes these and gives you lots of new ideas you can use in your article marketing strategy.
One part of the swipe file I found very interesting and useful was the section entitled: “How To Build A Subscriber List From Zero To 17,096 Automatically Using One Article!” Great Stuff Jason!
My Conclusions and an Experiment
Most of the above can be obtained by reading the sales page. What you really need to know is whether this package is worth it, and what better way for you to decide than for me to explain my findings while using the software, and give you real results I obtained.
I decided to test the software with an article of mine that I wrote for my internet marketing ezine. The article was called "Why does the link page have a PR zero?".
I used Article Announcer to submit this article to a small sample of the article submission sites available in the software. In fact I chose 10 article submission sites out of the 100+ available. I didn't even send this article to the announcement lists or the ezine publisher which are also contained in the Article Announcer database. So, my test was very small scale.
Before submitting this article, there were no references to "Why does the link page have a PR zero?" in Google. This meant I could easily monitor how quickly my article was picked up.
Day 0: No references in Google to my article.
Day 2: 184 references to my article in Google.
Day 7: 187 references to my article in Google.
During this 7 day period, the number of references bounced around and went as low as 85.
These drops were a little disappointing, but it is early days. Google does use a lot of different data centres to serve up its results, so temporary drops may be due to nothing more than differences between data centres.
As you look through the results in Google for my article title, there is something you should be aware of. Not all of these results contain my article (and therefore the link in the resource box back to my site), so not all of these pages are benefiting me directly.
You see, Google returns all pages that have the title of my article on them. This includes pages that include RSS feeds taken from one of the article site (and those RSS feed links point back to the article site, not mine), and also pages on the article sites themselves that have links pointing to the article on their site (e.g. ezinearticles.com always posts links to the new articles on its homepage, but those links go to ezinearticles, not my site).
Hopefully, webmasters will pick up my article from the article directories and post it on their site, thereby increasing the number of links back to my site.
So. Has this helped my PR or rankings? Well, with Google only updating PR every 3 months or so, it is too early to say. As far as my rankings are concerned, they have improved. This one article appears to have been responsible for my newsletter sign-up page moving from page 2 of the SERPS, into the top 10 of Google, for a term with 15 million + competing pages.
Overall, I have been very impressed by initial results, and I will continue to test this software.
My only really complaint with this software is that some of the article directories in the database are out of date, or just don't work. This is a small number, and probably nothing to do with Article Announcer itself. On testing some of these sites directly in Internet Explorer, I had the same issues. This problem is easy enough to handle. Just remove these sites from the article database. You can of course add them, or others at a later date.
